Lorna Moore

Lorna Moore - MA BMUS LRSL LLCM ALCM

Based in Cork, Lorna Moore is an MA and Bmus graduate of the CIT Cork School of Music where she specialized in piano performance, piano accompaniment, conducting and teaching practice.
Since her MA, Lorna continued her journey as a musical educator and holds a BAST (Be a Singing Teacher) qualification in vocology and is a certified RSL (Rockschool) Teacher. Lorna is passionate about singing having completed her Classical and Contemporary Vocal Grades with distinction as well as receiving a Licentiate Cert (LLCM) in Classical Vocal Performance from the West College of Music, London and being awarded the title of CSM’s ‘Highest Placed Singer’ during her undergraduate studies. As well as her vocal pursuits, Lorna relishes any opportunity that honors her piano skills with regular piano bar residencies and completed her MA studies performing Gerswhin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ to a rapturous full house.
Lorna has sung with numerous Munster based choirs and acted as musical director and to several award winning Cork based choirs and is an active singer in the National Gold prize winning group ‘Guys and Dolls’ Quartet.

Alongside roles as a teacher and musical director, Lorna is an active performer and has been part of many performances from Opera to Choral Works working with budding recording artists such as Bon Iver and Damien Rice as a live backing vocalist in the Cork Opera House as well as participating in various Opera Productions including Verdi’s La Traviata and Mozart’s the Marriage of Figaro. Lorna is an active wedding singer with over 10 years experience and has sung in many vocal ensemble projects, most recently she was one of the voices featured on the new ‘Evil Dead Rise’ (2023) soundtrack recorded in the RTE Studios, Dublin and has been a resident pianist and vocalist with many Cork hotels such as the Montenotte, Metropole and Imperial Hotel. Lorna currently performs with the International Bronze Medalist and National Gold Barbershop Champion acapella group ‘Guys and Dolls’, the group have worked with Grammy Award Winning group The Swingle Singers and have performed to sold out audiences in the Triskel Christchurch Arts Centre as part of the Cork Choral Festival’s Fringe Festival as well as other venues around Cork and internationally. Alongside her singing ventures, Lorna is active piano accompanist working with well renowned stage schools such as Montforts Performing Arts as well as solo freelance ventures.

Lorna is a passionate educator and thrives in finding ways of sharing her knowledge of music with her students whilst symbiotically learning from them through their musical journeys. Lorna’s aim is to help her students unleash their full potential through the art of music, launching their own creativity and inner voice, helping them to grow in confidence through performance and application of their learnings and most importantly to be themselves and to love and cherish what they do.
